Description
Dead Zed is a fast-paced military tactical action game from the developer Not Doppler. It blends a cartoon art style and realistic physics with experimental gameplay that mixes Tower Defense and first-person shooter elements. The story takes place in the near future, where humanity has been hit by an unknown virus that rapidly alters DNA and mutates cells.
At first, Earth's scientists managed to keep the outbreak under some control, but over time the situation spun completely out of hand. Thousands of reanimated corpses swarmed parks and megacities, turning once-thriving cities into lifeless wastelands…
Difficulty, Content and Updates
In terms of gameplay, the Dead Zed universe borrows from Tower Defense, but without any towers. Instead, defense falls entirely on the main character, who fires at the advancing hordes of the dead. It also brings in a classic shooter approach, where shooting accuracy, ammunition management (ammo is always scarce) and the order of your attacks really matter.
Because of this, you can't win by luck or by mashing every button on the screen, even if you try. Instead, the game will repeatedly show Game Over screens and make you restart the level from scratch, demanding even more effort. For example, you'll need to keep aiming for the head (or at least the legs!), upgrade your gear and collect power-ups…
