VALHALLA SURVIVAL and Ragnarok
From what we know, VALHALLA SURVIVAL is strongly inspired by Norse mythology and begins at the very start of the Ragnarok catastrophe. The disaster throws the Nine Realms into chaos, and void monsters pour out of rifts in space with one goal: to destroy everything in their path.
Unwilling to watch the chaos spread, Odin, King of the Gods, calls on the heroes of Valhalla to rise and defend the Nine Realms. Only these heroes can intervene in the turmoil engulfing Midgard. The road ahead is anything but easy, filled with swarms of void monsters and many twists in the plot. Brave hero, are you prepared for this fight?
Familiar Gameplay
As the title suggests, in VALHALLA SURVIVAL you must stay alive in a land overrun by void monsters. There are no long introductions when you start: you simply pick one of three available characters and your adventure begins right away.
Each level only requires basic movement controls. Your job is to dodge monsters while your character automatically attacks and destroys them. The mechanics closely resemble Survivor.io. Defeated enemies drop experience crystals that help your hero level up, and each level-up lets you pick a new skill or upgrade an existing one. Even if you are new to this genre, it should be easy to get the hang of.
Heroes of Valhalla
At the start, VALHALLA SURVIVAL offers only three heroes to choose from. The selection is small, but each one embodies the spirit of the Viking age and Norse mythology. Here is a quick look at them:
- Lif: A female elf rated at one star in difficulty. She wields elemental magic, and her skills can strike several targets at once.
- Asherad: A powerful warrior armed with a sword and shield. As a melee fighter, he is very durable, though his movement speed is fairly slow.
- Roskva: A human female archer with a maximum difficulty of three stars. Her stats are well balanced, and her bow-and-arrow skills deliver high attack power.
Collect Powerful Equipment
Unlike many games in the same genre, VALHALLA SURVIVAL lets you equip a wide range of items on your character. Familiar gear such as weapons, armor, gauntlets, and boots is available, along with extra slots for belts, rings, and hats that unlock as your character gains levels.
Obtaining rare equipment requires clearing tougher levels, and you may need several attempts before you get the piece you want. You can also try the Gacha feature, though it consumes a lot of resources. Nothing comes easily, in the game or in real life.
Stunning Graphics
VALHALLA SURVIVAL is built on Unreal Engine 5, so its visuals are both realistic and beautifully rendered. The world of Norse mythology is recreated in dark, wild colors, and the scenes feel lifelike. Combat is just as engaging, with moves unleashed instantly and with explosive force. The female characters are stylishly designed without losing their strong, heroic presence, and the male characters are best appreciated in person.
