Each Route Leads to a Different Score

At the start, every player receives 4 wagon cards and 3 destination cards. Each destination card shows a pair of cities on the map that you must connect secretly. Hold onto these cards through to the end—completing your connections earns you points. Every player also selects a set of 45 trains in their chosen color.

On your turn, choose one of three actions. Draw two railway car cards or one Locomotive card from the deck. Select 3 cards and keep one destination card, swapping it if needed. Finally, place collected cards to claim train tracks on the board and score points.

Routes Offer Varying Point Values

Each segment in Ticket to Ride has its own length and color. Only one player scores when a segment is claimed. Cities connected by two routes earn double points. Adjacent city connections earn no points. Longer-distance routes yield higher scores than shorter ones.
