The beloved anime The Rising of the Shield Hero has finally received a role-playing game adaptation based on Aneko Yusagi's original work. You can relive some of the series' most memorable scenes while putting the defense-focused combat style of Naofumi, the Shield Hero, to the test. If you stay true to the spirit of the story, you can even take on the role of a traveling merchant and trade across the vast lands of Melromarc.
The combat system draws on the many skills and abilities that belong to the Shield Hero. Among them are Vigilance, which reveals where your enemy is aiming their weapon, Seize, which traps foes who aim their attacks at you, and Protect, which lets you shield your allies.
Every city and town from the anime has been faithfully recreated, so you can explore the entire realm of Melromarc. The game offers much more than story and battles. If you gather the ingredients needed to craft goods, you can become a Traveling Merchant and sell your products along the way. Your actions also shape how non-player characters (NPCs) across the world react to you, based on your Reputation Points. These and other intricate systems bring the world of The Rising of the Shield Hero to life.
On top of that, a detailed leveling system lets you learn new abilities by infusing your shield with various items you collect.
