Background
Some kind of supernatural event or biological weapon appears to have wrecked the world of T.D.Z.4 Heart of Pripyat. You step into the boots of Yaroslav, a determined young man searching for his father, who vanished 15 years ago. Crossing this broken landscape is no easy task, and your journey begins with a rough encounter with wild animals before you meet Raccoon.
Raccoon was a close friend of Yaroslav's father and spent years trying to track him down, without success. Over a campfire, he shares many memories of the missing man. Once the story is told, Raccoon gives Yaroslav a quick crash course in survival skills and combat so he can head out on his own. Just how far will the young man get in his search? You'll have to play T.D.Z.4 Heart of Pripyat to find out.
Gameplay
Like most action role-playing games, T.D.Z.4 Heart of Pripyat lets you explore and fight your way through its world. The game is 3D and uses a fairly realistic first-person view. As Yaroslav, and with Raccoon guiding you at the start, you push forward in search of any clues your father left behind. Along the way, zombies and lingering chemical hazards will regularly test you.
Weapons and equipment are essential for staying alive. As you explore the map, you can pick up guns and other gear, including a variety of firearms and healing potions. Every challenge is yours to face, and the road to becoming a stalker stretches on ahead.
Dangers
As mentioned earlier, the world of T.D.Z.4 Heart of Pripyat is a post-apocalyptic wasteland full of threats. The desolation is obvious from the very first stages. Your earliest opponents will likely be creatures warped by the disaster, such as mutated wild boars or humans turned into zombies. They attack any living thing they find, so you'll need to take them down to survive.
Beyond the undead, other dangers lurk. These might be toxic gas or some unidentified organism, and they can turn up almost anywhere. If your screen warns of blood loss, get out of the area fast and find whatever is hurting you. Horrors like these are a constant presence in T.D.Z.4 Heart of Pripyat.
Weapons
T.D.Z.4 Heart of Pripyat offers a wide selection of firearms and accompanying items. At the start, Raccoon hands you a pistol and a shotgun, but ammunition is scarce, so use it wisely. The farther you venture into the dead lands, the more chances you get to find stronger guns that deal greater damage.
Ranged weapons are backed up by melee options, including daggers, axes and several others. When your ammo runs dry, these can keep you alive, and they're also the best choice for silent takedowns. Make too much noise, though, and you'll likely attract trouble you'd rather avoid. Weapons aren't just for dealing with zombies; they're also your protection against hostile strangers.
