[Overview & Gameplay] Your main mission is to collect all scattered gold bars across each stage while staying out of reach of chasing guards. Once the final treasure is collected, reach the top edge of the map to advance to the upcoming challenge. Each stage is structured around multistory brick platforms linked by climbing ladders and overhead horizontal poles, offering various routes through the maze. You can carve holes directly into brick walkways to briefly immobilize enemies, letting you walk safely across their heads. Whenever a guard carrying a gold bar plunges into a hole, the treasure drops in place for you to pick up. Dug-out brick tiles naturally restore themselves after a short interval. Any foe still trapped when the bricks reform gets destroyed immediately and reappears at a random spot near the summit. Unlike enemies, your protagonist cannot climb out of dug holes and dies instantly if crushed by regenerating floor tiles. Furthermore, stages present solid bedrock that cannot be broken, alongside hidden trapdoors that send both guards and your hero tumbling through. Digging is strictly limited to adjacent horizontal tiles, never straight beneath your character's feet. This mechanical limit introduces a core tactical rule: to breach a depth of several layers, you must excavate a broad staircase pattern to keep an adjacent tile open at every step. Exceptions occur when digging from ladders or while suspended from horizontal bars, enabling you to carve a hole and drop down layer by layer—a vital trick for conquering elaborate puzzle rooms. You start your journey with 5 lives, earning an extra life for every successfully cleared stage. Touching a guard costs a single life and restarts the ongoing room. Your hero can drop from any height without taking damage but has no jump capability. Getting stuck in an inescapable pit forces you to sacrifice a life and restart the stage. Direct contact with enemy guards is permitted exclusively from above, placing your runner's feet directly on their head. This mechanic lets you walk over enemies caught in traps, and it also works during midair falls because your runner descends and runs quicker than the guards. You can even land harmlessly on moving guards under the right timing, a maneuver mandatory for completing select stages. Some advanced levels require using trapped guards as makeshift stepping stones, or breaking them free by digging from atop their head and dodging away immediately before they resume walking. Be careful, however: pressing the down command while standing on an enemy's head or grazing them inappropriately mid-descent triggers an immediate defeat. Several levels let you outsmart guards through clever entrapment, luring them into permanent dead ends or manipulating them into picking up out-of-reach gold bars for you. Master every challenge and clear all stages!
