Description
Rain World is an indie platformer and survival simulation created by Videocult, an independent developer that spent over six years crafting the experience before its 2017 release. Adult Swim Games initially brought it to PlayStation 4 and Windows in March 2017, with a Nintendo Switch version following in late 2018. You take on the role of a peculiar cat-slug hybrid creature searching for its family across a desolate landscape.
Your character, known as Slug Cat, scavenges debris as improvised tools to fend off predators, secure sustenance, and reach sheltered areas before catastrophic downpours strike. The game intentionally provides minimal tutorial guidance, challenging you to learn survival through experience. This design philosophy mirrors the struggle of a rat navigating subway systems, where players must adapt and develop strategies to endure in an unforgiving world.
