Pixel Soldiers Saratoga is the latest major wargame from Jolly Pixel, part of the popular Pixel Soldiers series.

Saratoga is a turn-based strategy wargame with addictive gameplay that is easy to pick up and hard to put down. Packed with the depth of a full PC title, it fits right into your pocket, featuring seven scenarios, a capable AI opponent, and an endless sandbox for unlimited war.

Saratoga includes seven scenarios, most of them inspired by real historical battles. To keep things fun and playable, some of these battles have been adjusted, with clashes ranging from small skirmishes to large-scale engagements. The scenarios include:

* Crown Point (hypothetical).

* Ticonderoga, a large-scale reimagining that amps up the pixel-on-pixel action.

* Hubbardton (a small to medium historical skirmish).

* Fort Stanwix/Oriskany (blends the Oriskany ambush with the Stanwix siege into one gripping scenario).

* Bennington, a smaller historical battle.

* Freeman's Farm, also known as the First Battle of Saratoga, a large historical engagement.

* Bemis Heights, also known as the Second Battle of Saratoga, an extensive historical event!

Saratoga offers plenty of features that will delight any true wargaming fan:

* Convenient save system lets you wage war from anywhere, and you can keep multiple campaigns in progress at once.

* Tutorial.

* Play solo against a sharp AI opponent or challenge a friend in hot-seat mode.

* A large roster of units under your command, all rendered in fine pixel art. British forces include Line Infantry, Guards Grenadiers, Guards Infantry, Light Infantry, German Loyalists, Indian allies, and Medium and Light Artillery. The American side features Musket and Rifle Militia, Continental Regulars, Veteran Infantry, Light Infantry, Riflemen, and Medium and Light Artillery. The order of battle even includes small warships called bateaux.

* Every unit has its own strengths and plays a distinct role on the battlefield, giving you plenty of tactical options.

Once you've completed the campaigns, the sandbox mode offers unlimited replayability. It includes earlier sandbox maps along with a brand-new map, King's Mountain. A new Fight to the Death mode has also been added.

* Classic wargaming elements are all present, including the morale line, line of sight, and the importance of terrain.

A brand-new system of leader points adds a layer of strategic choice, since you'll never be able to do everything you need or want.

* Leader points can be spent on leading units into combat for a combat boost, ordering a double-time march, or recovering and rallying troops that have routed or become disorganized.

The Pixel Soldiers series introduces several new features here for the first time, including a Routing Phase at the end of each turn that delivers more in-game feedback. This makes melee combat more dangerous than ever.
