PitchBlack – Substratum Theme is a well-known, feature-rich dark and black Android theme. It supports a large number of apps and ROMs, striking a careful balance between materialistic design, minimalism, and a range of striking color combinations.

ATTENTION: This theme is not compatible with Samsung, Xiaomi, LG, Huawei, or any other OEM-based stock ROMs. Please read the description for more details.

PitchBlack S for Samsung (supports Oreo & One UI) is now available on ApkMod.

The Substratum theme engine must be installed to use this application.

PitchBlack is a well-known, full-featured dark and black Android theme that is also gentle on battery life. It supports many apps and ROMs, balancing materialism, minimalism, and a variety of color combinations.

Get all the original PitchBlack CMTE theme collections and more in one place! Reworking how accents and backgrounds are applied, PitchBlack makes theming simple by automatically generating 130+ theme sets for you. Just pick the combination you like, build it, and enable it. That's all there is to it!

NOTE: The Nougat OMS ROM theme requires the full Substratum OMS theme engine, supported on Android 7.1 AOSP ROMs. The theme will not work on stock Samsung, stock LineageOS, OxygenOS, or Omni Nougat-based ROMs.

About Android Oreo & Pie support

PitchBlack Oreo & Pie provides full support on Pixel Stock, LineageOS, OxygenOS, and any other AOSP Oreo & Pie-based ROMs.

First step: choose your Android overlay version.

Installation for Android Oreo and Pie • Select your Android version • Select all, then configure the selected apps with the required options there. (System apps must be selected, such as Settings, Android System, and SystemUI) • Tap Build and Update • Reboot your device • Go to the Overlay Manager and enable the installed overlays

• To change or update QS tile colors on OxygenOS, go to Settings > Display > Accent (select the applied PitchBlack accent). Repeat this after every PitchBlack theme change.

What isn't working on Oreo & Pie (stock) ROMs?

• Some notification text colors cannot be inverted, so light notifications are now the default on Oreo and Pie ROMs (the dark option is still available)

A Quick FAQ

Q: How do I apply it?

A: Simply open the Substratum app, then enable and build the overlays after tapping the PitchBlack tile. If you already have a theme applied, go to the Overlay Manager and disable all overlays before you enable and build PitchBlack, then reboot your device.
