About Parasite Z
The story opens with your character waking behind rusted bars, memories fragmented, while distant screams fill the air. Cell blocks, an infirmary, an armory, underground tunnels, and execution chambers connect to one another, and as you move through this prison, the origin of the outbreak slowly comes to light.
The narrative follows a detective and a lawyer, each driven by different goals and using different investigative methods. Switching between their perspectives uncovers new layers of the prison's secrets, while hidden documents and visual clues help you connect the experiments, the parasite, and the fates of the two survivors.
Parasite Z Gameplay
You explore the prison, search for keys and materials, overcome obstacles, and retrace your steps to earlier locations whenever new paths open. Since bullets and healing supplies are scarce, you have to decide whether to fight, avoid, or outrun each enemy to conserve your resources.
Items are stored in a grid-based inventory with limited capacity, so each slot affects how you prepare for what lies ahead. You may choose to carry extra ammo instead of a puzzle item, or prioritize healing materials over the components needed to craft tools and combat gear.
Parasite Z Features
Interconnected Prison
The prison complex works as a layered labyrinth rather than a mere narrative backdrop. Every cell wing, hallway, and facility contains locked routes, environmental clues, or reasons to backtrack once you find the right item.
Two Protagonists
You can experience the story through a detective who leans on instinct and combat readiness, or a lawyer who favors analysis and caution. These contrasting viewpoints offer distinct investigative approaches and narrative angles.
Limited Resources
Ammunition and recovery items are never plentiful, so every fight carries consequences. Shooting may remove an immediate threat, but avoiding it is often the smarter move to prepare for the next area.
Grid-Based Inventory
Weapons, keys, medicine, and crafting materials all share limited space within a grid layout. You need to plan your loadout before entering new territory, since carrying one item may mean leaving another behind.
Crafting System
Materials scavenged from across the prison can be crafted into ammunition, healing items, or specialized tools. The items you craft should suit your playstyle and current threats, as vital components may be hidden in infected areas or behind puzzles.
Visual and Audio Atmosphere
Unreal Engine 5 visuals bring cracked concrete, rusted bars, real-time shadows, and dynamic lighting to life, intensifying the feeling of an abandoned prison. Metallic echoes, distant footsteps, and creature sounds often reach your ears before anything comes into view, making audio a crucial warning of danger.
