This is a true action game at heart. Its speed and thrilling combat, controlled with a virtual pad, recreate the feel of the belt-scroll brawlers from the Super Nintendo and PS1 era. The responsive controls, including double-tap dashing, and the way enemy groups get knocked around will feel familiar to fans of "Kunio-kun" and "Final Fight" from the Famicom and Super Nintendo days. The beautiful graphics are a core part of its dark fantasy identity. It's a shame the Japanese translation reads a little awkwardly, though overall the work is genuinely well done.

MASTER NEVER GONE BY SHIFTING YOUR POSITION AND USING COMBOS WISELY

Combining the attack, defense, and jump buttons with items and movement opens up a wide range of possibilities. In the early stages, repeatedly hitting the A button is usually enough, but the difficulty climbs quickly. You can use the dash attack's kick to knock enemies away and buy yourself time, or weave aerial combos that strike while dodging enemy attacks. Planning your moves ahead is essential.

Against enemies that use projectiles, you'll need a strategy like the one in "Final Fight": shift your position vertically to dodge, and use counters that strike while you defend to reduce incoming damage. Honestly, it's a really good game, so I hope the Japanese translation gets some polish soon.
