Neku, also called Neku: OC Character Creator, is an app that lets you design your own virtual character. Developed by Sticker Maker, it has racked up a huge number of downloads and plenty of glowing user reviews. With a vast library of models and diverse fashion items, you can bring your own ideas to life exactly the way you imagine them.
Introducing Neku
Neku is essentially a tool that makes it easy to craft striking images of your own design. It serves as a character or avatar creator for your social network profiles. The app, also known as Neku: OC Character Creator, is available on Google Play and on ApkMod.
Neku, a place to unleash your creativity
If you love cartoon-style artwork, Neku is made for you. It offers a wide range of ready-made designs known as Templates, and your main task is simply picking the pieces you like best to build the perfect picture. Your character can be male or female, and every feature, from facial details to accessories and outfits, can be customized to suit your taste.
Neku reportedly includes more than 3,000 different Templates made by both developers and the community. You can use what others have created or design fresh Templates of your own. There are few limits on how many characters appear in a single frame, so you can place one, two, or even three characters together and style each of them however you like.
Features
In my view, Neku has a clean, straightforward interface that is easy to get around. Templates are organized into clearly labeled sections, so even someone new to this kind of app can find their way quickly. The home page showcases newly released Templates and finished images, along with trending picks and favorite avatars.
The Template categories are neatly sorted by theme, including New Arrivals, Daily Top, Christmas, Halloween, Trending, Side Profile, Handsome, and more. This gives you a good sense of the variety of artwork available in Neku. Starting from scratch would make it hard to choose the right direction right away, so these curated collections are a real help.
Neku also features a PK system, a competitive arena where you go head to head with other players by designing and building cartoon characters around a specific theme. Opponents and themes are picked at random, and themes might include parties, camping, beaches, or offices. For each theme, you choose the right makeup, hairstyle, outfit, and accessories. Players whose creations earn the highest ratings from the audience take the win.
Collect Stars
Neku also has a mission system in its Daily Missions section, where you can earn rewards and collect stars. The more stars you gather, the easier it becomes to unlock other services within Neku. Your personal page keeps the images and Templates you have created, and you can also revisit the pictures you previously liked.
Some points to note
After spending some time with Neku, I noticed a few things worth keeping in mind:
First, there is the issue of advertising, which can be a major concern in both apps and games. We have to accept that to download an app or game for free, we are expected to watch ads, and this is how developers recoup their investment. Still, I believe the number of ads should be kept at a reasonable level. In Neku, ads appear no matter which feature you use. Even claiming achievement rewards requires watching an ad, and sometimes ads pop up simply when you switch pages. Personally, I found this quite uncomfortable.
Although Neku lets users publish their own Templates in a kind of miniature social network, there is no commenting or rating feature. I have come across some Templates that were not particularly attractive, yet there was no way to offer the creators suggestions for improvement.

In short, Neku, also known as Neku: OC Character Creator, remains a place where you can create freely. It has a few minor limitations, but they are unlikely to dampen your enthusiasm much. What are you waiting for? Dive into the world of drawing and create a cartoon character that everyone will love.
