The Story

MementoMori follows a girl who, at the age of six, discovered she had a special power: witch magic. As the years went by, she still struggled to control that power and had yet to find a way to master it.

Meanwhile, the world was changing. A series of strange events brought constant calamity, and people slowly came to fear witches, blaming them for the disasters and their ghostly magic. Witches were branded cruel, isolated, and shut out of the society they had always lived in. The leader of this anti-witch movement is the Church.

In the land where our heroine was born and raised, the church known as Longinus carries out witch hunts, seeking to destroy every remaining witch, whether or not they actually threatened the world. Many were hanged, burned, or stoned to death.

Neighbors began to suspect one another of being witches, and arguments, lawsuits, and accusations spread everywhere. Unexplained deaths only fueled the paranoia. Suspicion and fear surrounded everyone, and our poor girl was hunted and doubted, suffering many dangerous injuries.

Even though countless witches were slaughtered, the disasters did not subside; the danger only grew. No one realizes that the witch they are trying to kill is the only one who can save the world.
