You'll move through a large, richly detailed environment packed with frightening elements that can make your character scream. Thanks to its 2.5D perspective, players get a fairly wide field of view as they work together to escape a terrifying location or catch the survivors. This makes teamwork and smart tactics essential for using your skills and clearing each level.

REACH YOUR GOALS WITH THE SKILLS YOU HAVE

Horrorfield features two sides: survivors and maniacs. The survivors must help one another and locate the generators scattered across the map. Screaming is a defining trait of these characters, and it is what gives them away to the maniac. Once you're attacked, your speed drops until you're trapped in a cage and waiting for a teammate to rescue you.

Injured survivors depend on a teammate who can heal them and clear negative effects. These effects include slowed movement and leaving blood trails that enemies can follow to find and capture you. You won't be able to get caught too many times, either: when you're caged a second time, your life is on the line. Your character's portrait turns red, and once it does, your game ends.

The maniacs' abilities are wonderfully varied, but they generally share the power to detect screams, attack targets within reach, and wound them. Blood footprints are a particularly useful tool that players can exploit to stop survivors from escaping.

CHARACTERS WITH DISTINCT TRAITS

Horrorfield's two character lines offer distinct traits so you can pick the one that suits your playstyle. Survivors may be able to run faster, heal more quickly, repair generators at a higher speed, or benefit from many other advantages. Some characters must reach a certain level before they unlock, and they often come with passive skills. The maniac side is just as competitive, with characters who can destroy generators, transform into wolves, pass through walls, or eliminate survivors more quickly.
