The story hasn't changed much, and once again you must help the main character free his relatives. This time they're trapped deep inside a pitch-black cave where light is scarce and finding an exit is nearly impossible. Monsters lurk throughout the caverns, some crawling along the ground and others flying overhead. On every level, you'll grab a powerful revolver, hop into a cart, and search for your companions.

The biggest challenge is that you can't see what lies ahead in that total darkness. Eventually you'll unlock gear that lights up the path, but it doesn't work especially well and draws extra attention from the monsters. It's also nearly impossible to tell who is standing in front of you from their silhouette, so you might accidentally shoot a monster or one of your comrades.

As you've probably gathered, clearing a level means more than reaching the end of the area. You also need to rescue as many fireflies as you can. Like in the previous games, the controls rely on simple taps on the screen, letting you fire in the direction you need. Coins and crystals can be spent on new carts, weapons, and headwear for the fireflies.
