How farming works in Honey Grove
Farming sits at the heart of Honey Grove, as it does in most farm simulators. The farmland uses an isometric layout, with diamond-shaped cells aligned along a two-dimensional XY axis set at a 60-degree angle. To plant, pick a seed from the Seedings panel in the lower-right corner and drag it onto an empty cell. Each cell can hold only one seed.
Growing and harvesting crops
Every plant in Honey Grove passes through 5 stages: 4 growth stages followed by a harvest stage. While a plant is growing, touch it to send the bees over to tend to it. Depending on the plant type, the bees need a few seconds to finish, and then the plant takes anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes to advance to the next stage.
Once a crop reaches its harvest stage, a simple touch lets the bees gather it. Crops fall into two categories: single-harvest and seasonal. Single-harvest crops, typically root vegetables, vanish after being picked, leaving behind an empty plot. Seasonal crops, which include flowers and fruit trees, can be harvested repeatedly, and flowers keep producing nectar on their own without any harvesting.
After a harvest, crops enter a resting state (state 6), during which they need several hours before they are ready to harvest again. Watering a plant skips this wait. Water is limited in Honey Grove, so think carefully before using it.

Honey Grove features 113 plant types spread across 5 rarity tiers.

Each plant looks distinct, and the higher its rarity, the more striking its appearance and the more valuable its harvest. Every time a seed you planted sprouts into a new plant, its details are recorded in your Collections.
How discovery works in Honey Grove
Exploration runs alongside farming throughout the game. You can send scout bees out from the hive to gather resources and seeds, complete side quests, or interact with local wildlife. Each expedition requires at least one bee, a few drops of honey, and some time to finish. As your hive grows and you unlock more scout bees, you can assign additional bees to an expedition to shorten its duration.
Most expeditions cost nectar, so your farm should keep plenty of flowers at the harvest stage to keep nectar flowing and support your scouts.
The research system inside the hive
Research works like a small puzzle game within Honey Grove. It takes place on a hexagonal research table inside the hive. While exploring or farming, you collect material fragments, which you can place on the table and combine into complete materials.
To combine fragments, drag a piece onto a slot holding the same type of material. Adjacent slots containing matching pieces merge according to a simple rule: 3 fragments produce 1 complete material. Any leftover fragments return to the research table. Crafting only happens when you have at least 3 matching pieces.
Unlike many farming games, Honey Grove has no shop for buying seeds. Exploration and research are the two main ways to collect seeds for planting.
