Helltaker puts you in the shoes of a Demon Administrator on a mission to win over a demon girl and make his dream come true. Along the way you'll crack logic puzzles, get past obstacles and dodge traps. The offbeat 2D art and clever maze designs are built to keep you hooked for a long time.

Description and Plot

Our hero finds himself in a hellish dungeon and must clear 10 original levels. Each stage asks you to explore a different area filled with its own hazards. Helltaker runs on the core mechanics common to most turn-based strategy games, so you'll need to think on your feet. Battles here are essentially puzzles, and a carefully planned sequence of moves and punches is what carries the hero to victory.

As you progress, you'll chat with the demon girls, since the dialogue drives the story forward. Each reply you pick has its own consequences, and choosing the right line can open a path through tricky mazes and earn you the attention of the girl you're after. The challenge also grows with the runes you collect, which you'll need for interacting with the pentagram in the final part of the game.

Keep an eye out for other obstacles too, such as spikes and boulders. Getting past them costs Administrator Will, a limited resource spent on every action: pushing a boulder costs 1 unit, while stepping onto spikes costs 2. You'll also meet skeletons you can smash and locked doors blocking the way to the next level. If your Will runs out, a blinding beam of light destroys the hero and the level restarts from the beginning.
