𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 (DNS filter)

GreerGuard includes an optional DNS filtering feature called Safe Browsing. When turned on, it uses Android's VpnService API to set up a local VPN tunnel on your device. This tunnel intercepts DNS queries, the lookups your apps make before connecting to any server, and blocks known tracker, advertising, and malware domains before a connection is ever made.

All DNS filtering happens entirely on your device. No internet traffic, browsing content, or app data is sent through any external server. The local tunnel is used only to inspect and filter DNS queries, passing allowed domains on to Cloudflare's DNS resolver (1.1.1.1). Your data is never collected, sold, or shared as part of this feature.

You can turn Safe Browsing on or off at any time from within the app. It has no effect on your internet speed or connectivity for allowed traffic.
