Description

Swordigo is a blend of RPG and platformer gameplay in which you team up with a young swordsman to uncover a way to stop the Corruptors. As you advance, you'll pass through many different levels and uncover new mechanics along the way. The environments are varied, with changing terrain and monsters you'll need to adapt to. Your hero grows stronger over time but requires plenty of resources and experience, so skipping battles and exploration won't get you far.

THE QUEST AGAINST THE CORRUPTORS

The story in Swordigo follows a young swordsman who begins his adventure after a strange dream. Not long after, he discovers that his teacher has mysteriously vanished, and he sets out at once to look for him. After crossing the forest, he finds his teacher dead. Near the body, he comes across a note in which the teacher warns of an evil entity known as the Corruptors.

In the letter, the teacher tells his students that the Corruptors have returned. Shortly after the hero departs, a black monster appears and overwhelms him with a blow that knocks him out. Once a doctor tends to his wounds, he learns of a powerful magic sword called the Mageblade, the only weapon believed capable of defeating the Corruptors. He then sets off to find it.

EXPLORE THE WORLD AND FIGHT ENEMIES

In Swordigo, you'll move through 2D levels blending RPG and platforming elements while facing a variety of foes. You begin with a weapon and can explore the surroundings at your own pace. Along the way, you can smash certain objects and, if luck is on your side, collect shards, the main currency of the game. You'll also discover helpful guides as you explore.

As you travel through different areas, you'll encounter control hints that explain how to deal with obstacles and terrain ahead. These usually appear as signs marked with question marks, and as you approach them, details about the upcoming challenge are revealed. Beyond the terrain, you'll also face a range of enemies, each with attacks that follow patterns you can learn and exploit.

DEFEAT ENEMIES AND GAIN EXPERIENCE

When fighting in Swordigo, be cautious around foes that are higher in level or wear heavy armor, since they can be tough to take down. Study how they behave and spot the patterns in their attacks so you can seize openings. For instance, a turtle that fires a circular orb can be struck to send the projectile flying back at it, letting the creature take damage without you having to keep swinging.

You'll encounter many kinds of enemies, and defeating them rewards you with experience and shards, which you can spend on the items you need. Each time you level up, you can boost one of three stats: health, physical attack, or magic attack. Shards also let you equip stronger weapons to face tougher enemies, and some of these weapons come with unique and valuable effects.
