Description

FRep – Finger Replayer is a finger record and replay app. Once you capture a routine sequence of actions, you can run it again with one trigger. Building your own automated action button is quick and simple.

– Record, replay, repeat and edit touchscreen actions and/or keystrokes – Easy recording and playback within the current app using the floating console button – The console shows or hides based on which recordings are playable in the current app

The unlock key unlocks an unlimited number of recordings and the Tasker/Locale plugin functionality.

Usage Examples – Recording analog push, swipe and flick motions for automated processing, scrolling or gestures – Playing back continuous virtual key presses at set intervals while browsing – Queuing delayed or continuous presses to account for processing lag, such as CPU load or network delays

Communication – Avoid blind spots or blurring caused by finger movement – Combine with automation apps through FRep replay shortcuts or the Tasker plugin – Demonstrate your app on a real device

Initial Setup FRep requires the initial setup described below. If your Android device is rooted, you can skip this section by granting su permission. To set up FRep for the first time or after the device reboots, you need a USB connection to a Windows, Mac, Linux or Android computer. Download and run the setup tool from the URL below.

Show/Hide Console Once the service starts, FRep stays in the notification bar. Tap it to show or hide the console. When you start a recording with the record circle button, FRep automatically displays the console over the app being recorded. You can then replay the recording with the play triangle button.

Recording Modes Choose your preferred mode in the FRep front app. Simple: records until the Power button is pressed. Till Gap: records until there is no input for a set number of seconds. Progress: records continuously and builds an editable sequence split by input gaps.

Repeat and Edit Playback Set the repeat count above 1 in Manage Traces and FRep will play the recording continuously for that many cycles. You can also create and edit playback sequences made up of multiple recordings or controls. Each stroke within a trace can be moved, given a wait time or clipped.

Power Button FRep does not record Power button presses, and pressing it will immediately stop any recording or playback.

Restrictions by Current App During recording or playback, an incoming call or switching apps can cause problems. To prevent this, FRep is restricted on Phone, Google Play and FRep itself. You can configure restrictions for other apps as well.

Interrupting Playback To stop a replay, simply overlap the screen with an operation to interrupt it easily.

Virtual Keyboard Double-tap the upper button on the console to open a separate page containing the key operation editor.

Customization Adjust the notification type and icon, console size and transparency, drag and flick sensitivity, default settings and more.

Notice & Tips – Avoid recording any personal information or passwords. – Replay results may vary depending on CPU load and/or network traffic. For better reproducibility, use a longer processing wait delay, stop touching at the end point when dragging or flicking, and so on. You can also try editing the sequence with image matching (see the Tutorial category on the support site). – By default, recordings are saved to your sdcard. You can copy them for backup, but they aren't compatible with other devices.
