Floating Sandbox is an experimental sandbox from the Hajixsoof Dev studio that mixes a 2D sinking-ship, ocean liner, and ferry simulator. The developers set everything in the waters of an unknown ocean, where another disaster could unfold within minutes. Which disaster exactly? That depends on whoever is at the helm. A passenger ferry or a service vessel might stay intact and avoid ending up as food for fish on the scenic seafloor. Experience suggests, however, that virtual ships will almost always, with roughly 99% certainty, repeat the fate of the Titanic…
Atmosphere, Gameplay, and Events
The sandbox's standout feature is its wide range of simulation systems that govern how ships orient themselves in the water, how quickly any vessel breaks apart, and how the water itself behaves. Structural integrity, ocean and sea density, and the layout of underwater landmarks are all calculated in real time. As a result, players have plenty of options: every disaster becomes fully controllable, and building any scenario is genuinely engaging.
