Following the genre's conventions, gameplay unfolds from a first-person perspective as your security guard character sits in an office, attempting to endure each shift from midnight until dawn. Multiple exits surround your office—monitor them carefully and keep them illuminated to detect when animatronics approach. Secure doors immediately upon their arrival, and utilize the CCTV camera network to constantly track their movements and positions.
