Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier is a Battle Royale game built especially for mobile devices. The action takes place in Midgar, decades before the main storyline of the series begins. The game is set 30 years before the events of Final Fantasy VII. The Shinra Company has formed an experimental unit called "SOLDIER", made up of enhanced fighters. Your primary goal is to survive and climb through the ranks. These soldiers rely on cutting-edge technology, including energy shields, while the map layout closely resembles the familiar Erangel from PUBG Mobile.
Like other battle royale games, a "ring" steadily shrinks over time, pushing players to keep moving toward the center. You can choose between solo and team modes, and in the team mode, players are split into squads of three.
Close-quarters combat is just as important as long-range firefights, so you can engage enemies hand-to-hand. Various monsters also roam the map. Defeating them earns skill points that you can spend to raise your abilities, and fallen monsters may drop weapons or armor as rewards.
