About Dream and Lethe Record
China boasts a long history filled with famous figures and legends, and many players have long been drawn to that rich past. Want to explore it in a fresh way? Dive into Dream and Lethe Record and feel it all firsthand. A magical world full of renowned characters is waiting for you.
The magical realm built in Dream and Lethe Record
Entering Dream and Lethe Record, you arrive in a place called Lethe. In Chinese mythology, Lethe is the river of the underworld, the border between the world of the living and the realm of the dead. That is why Lethe in the game serves as a gathering place for famous scholars from Chinese history, who seem to have come here to finish their unfinished business.
In this mystical Lethe, you take on the role of a special official tasked with governing the realm. Although it is home to many celebrated scholars, rebellious forces still lurk within. Your duty is to put down the uprisings and keep Lethe at peace. Along the way, you will also get to know these famous scholars and uncover more about their lives.
Gameplay
Dream and Lethe Record offers an engaging and varied gameplay experience. It blends storytelling, turn-based combat, and character gacha into a compelling package. Your job is to help famous figures fulfill their wishes and defeat the troublemakers standing in their way, which means assembling a team to fight. A strong squad is essential from the very start of the game.
Beyond following the storyline through its levels, you can also try other combat modes such as PvP and ranked battles. Advancing in these modes requires a bit of tactical thinking. Each character also interacts with others, and combining their effects can create surprising moments in every battle. The best way to appreciate it is to try it yourself.
Meet many famous figures from Chinese history
China has gone through thousands of years of history, and countless legendary figures have emerged along the way. In Dream and Lethe Record, these figures appear as famous scholars, depicted in a distinctive new manhua style. Paired with ink-painting-inspired visuals, the world of Lethe feels even more mysterious and captivating.
Here you can encounter iconic names from Chinese history such as Li Shimin, Li Bai, Ying Zheng, and Wu Zetian. Each one has a story of their own, which unfolds as you interact with them. These characters are ranked by rarity, and most are locked in the early stages. To unlock them, complete missions, take part in events, or try your luck with gacha at the store.
Character skills in Dream and Lethe Record
As noted above, the game's characters are known as heroes. Each hero fills a specific role, such as Attack, Control, Defense, or Healing, and each comes with a unique set of skills. Though every hero differs, their skills fall into three main categories:
- Normal Attack: The hero's standard attacks.
- Passive Skill: Grants buff effects tailored to the hero's role.
- Awakening Skill: Unleashes the hero's ultimate move through their unique power.
These skills can be upgraded as the character's star level rises, so gather materials to improve the stars of the heroes in your squad.
Destiny feature
Dream and Lethe Record also includes a feature that strengthens your heroes, called Destiny. Simply put, it provides a buff when you pair two characters who share the same destiny. Each hero has between three and five destinies, though these only reveal themselves in full once you unlock the complete story of that hero.
You only have five slots for destiny pairings, so use them on characters in your main lineup to boost your overall combat power considerably. If you don't have a destiny pair yet, there's no need to worry. Join the gacha, and luck may come your way right away.
