The core gameplay stays familiar. When you start Doggo Go, simply tap and move the dog food squares. Line up three or more matching blocks and they will automatically merge and vanish from the screen, earning you points based on how challenging the move was.
But if that were all, could I really call this a "special" Doggo Go? The twist is that every block here isn't a single layer. Each one hides multiple layers you can't see in advance. Only once the upper layers are cleared does the lower layer appear, often showing a completely different image. You have to keep peeling back layers until you reach the final one before those blocks truly disappear. Blocks that match on the surface may still remain on the board, waiting for another match.
In a standard match-3 game, one move is usually enough to clear identical pictures. In Doggo Go, everything takes multiple steps, and the outcome is rarely what you expect, because each block's layers are at different stages. Some blocks are already on their final layer, while others are still on the first or second.
You keep going until every layer is solved and no squares remain on the screen. Only then do you officially complete the level.
Clear two levels in a row and you'll unlock a cute, animated meme dog skin. Your results are also automatically added to the Leaderboard, where you can compare yourself with players in your region.
It doesn't stop there. Each block can be played a maximum of 7 times, so you may need to match three blocks of the same type in just 7 moves. That means every step requires careful thought, considering several possible outcomes and having a solid backup plan. Overall, the game is quite demanding and far from the easy, candy-like fun of simpler match-3 titles.
