THE PATH TO BECOMING A CHEF

The story begins in the Gourmet Nation of Cooking My Story, where a young girl dreams of becoming a great cook. While she is busy with her work, she spots a TV show featuring a famous chef named Alex, who is searching for someone to win his contest and earn an impressive prize. The rewards include a trophy and the opportunity to work alongside him. From there, the game moves into its main gameplay.

The scene shifts to a food stall, where your main character chats with Alex, and he teaches her how to make waffles so she can have a shot at winning the contest. Alex stays by your side throughout the game and acts as your guide to its mechanics, so you always know what to do and can make confident decisions. The cooking system here is a bit different from other games of its kind.

MOVE AND COOK SMARTLY

Unlike many other games, Cooking My Story shows the character moving through a 2D environment rather than from a first-person view. To keep your character moving, you need to tap things in the kitchen. Cooking only starts once the character touches a machine, and then the food or drink is prepared automatically. Waffles need special attention: you have to watch for when they're ripe and take them out at the right moment so they don't burn.

Apart from the waffle Alex shows you, plenty of other foods and drinks are set up in your kitchen. Some of them, like cakes, need time, while others are ready almost instantly, depending on what they are. Each customer who visits your restaurant has a status bar made up of hearts. As time passes, the points drop and the hearts lose their color. To lift their mood, you need to fulfill one of their requests and then complete the rest.

OVERCOME VARIOUS CHALLENGES

The amount of money you need to earn is shown at the top of the Cooking My Story screen, and you must serve many customers correctly so they don't walk out. Unlike other cooking games, the waffle is the only item that takes a long time to prepare, while the rest can often be served right away. If you get too many different orders at once and can't keep up, buy new utensils and upgrade the kitchen equipment you already have.

You can buy extra items to furnish your restaurant and kitchen, such as new trays. Each tray holds two prepared dishes, which is useful for storing food you've made ahead of time or items that don't match a customer's order yet. Cooking and drink-making equipment also works faster after you upgrade it, cutting down preparation time so you can serve every customer who walks through your door.
