You've probably seen claw machines in shopping malls, right? Trying your luck at those machines and winning prizes can get expensive for casual players. Claw Stars lets you enjoy that same claw machine experience completely free. With its charming story of smart Hamsters and engaging gameplay, the game has quickly captured the hearts of players around the world. In this article, let's take a closer look at Claw Stars together.
Claw Stars and the Hamsters' story
In the Claw Stars universe, players follow the adventure of a Hamster. Not long ago, thousands of Hamsters were launched into space for experiments on life. Then a strange space distortion opened a time hole that pulled all of them in. While only a few minutes passed inside the time hole, millions of years went by in the outside world.
The experimental Hamsters, meanwhile, have grown far more intelligent. Using their remarkable minds, they built new spaceships to head back to Earth. The planet, however, has changed dramatically: its living creatures are now trapped inside mysterious spheres. Our Hamsters must use special claws to free every one of them, and that is how the millennia-spanning clawing mission begins.
Gameplay
Claw Stars has a fairly straightforward setup built around the claw machine. You and your little Hamster step up to the claw area and try to grab different items. Each item can reward you with a variety of valuable things, such as new animals, support items, gold coins, or event items. Every grab requires a claw, though, so you'll need to keep an eye on your supply.
Rebuilding your habitat in Claw Stars
As you'd expect, Earth's habitats have changed drastically after millions of years, so you'll need to rebuild and restore everything. The Habitat area shows you the wild landscape of the planet as it stands today. This is where you place the animals you rescue and rebuild houses and other structures. Claw Stars also includes a feature that lets you steal other players' animals if you own the Animal Cage item, so collect Drones to keep your own animals safe.
Plenty of exciting missions
Quests in Claw Stars are tracked in the Claw Area. They are usually straightforward, such as grabbing a set number of items, and they reward you with extra grabs or gold. Complete enough quests and you'll have a chance to unlock a special, unique skin.
Beyond the regular quests, you can also join event missions for even better rewards. The current Usagyuun mission offers valuable prizes including the Usagyuun skin and 100 thousand gold. If you purchase a Usagyuun Ticket, you'll unlock even more attractive and unique items.
A large map
Claw Stars might seem limited to Earth at first, but the game actually features a large map with many different planets. Most of them start locked and only open up once you finish rebuilding the previous planet. Some of the planets and areas include:
- The Earth
- Sunny Meadows
- Calm Waters
- Tropical Beaches
- Plain of Fire.
Exploring the Claw Stars warehouse
Step into the warehouse in Claw Stars and you'll find plenty of intriguing things to admire. This is where you'll find your character's costumes in a wide range of designs and styles. Hamster looks include Space Toys, Stuffed Animals, Sweets, Royal Family, and more. In the early stages, though, they are all locked. You can unlock them by conquering planets or purchase them from the in-game store.
