Introduction to Beasts Evolved 2
From what I've gathered, Beasts Evolved 2 first launched exclusively on iOS, with an Android version following soon after. At launch, however, it was only available in select regions. The game keeps the strategy RPG style and monster evolution mechanics of its predecessor, and the developers promise a brand-new world full of surprises for players to uncover.
Become an Adventurer in Beasts Evolved 2
If you've played the first game, the world of Continent of Evoland should feel familiar. This sequel takes you back to that world, but this time on a different continent. Here, monsters are shaped by Evolution Energy, which drives them into a range of new forms. There's little magic involved; it's essentially biological evolution with a dash of pseudoscience.
As an adventurer, you can tame beasts and work alongside them to help reset the world. Along the way, you'll encounter unexpected, powerful, and somewhat mysterious evolutions. Is the transformation in Beasts Evolved 2 the work of some unknown force? Are we all just pawns, test subjects in this grand "world evolution"? Only playing will reveal the answer!
Gameplay
Although it arrives as a fresh experience, Beasts Evolved 2 keeps the core traits of the original. The game centers on collecting monsters, evolving them, and battling. As an adventurer, you gather creatures, assemble a small team, and fight to earn the materials needed for evolution. It's a simple loop, yet it's highly engaging and hard to put down for anyone who enjoys growing power and exploring how evolution works.
The most innovative feature of Beasts Evolved 2 is how monsters evolve. In the first game, each monster followed one fixed, linear path. In the sequel, you have far more freedom. You can fuse two monster races to create a brand-new creature, combine monster parts to rebuild their forms, and unlock special abilities through the Final Awakened Form.
Explore the New Continent
Another highlight of Beasts Evolved 2 is its map design. Instead of the straight progression of the first game, the vast continent is now split into many distinct regions with multiple routes to choose from. Each area typically has its own environment, monsters, and resources, so it's worth studying them carefully before you venture in.
How to Evolve Your Monsters in Beasts Evolved 2
As noted above, evolution sits at the heart of Beasts Evolved 2. The developers stressed this three times in their introduction: "This game's ONLY REAL STRENGTH IS EVOLUTION!!!" To evolve your beasts, though, you'll need to prepare a few things. Specifically:
- Your monsters must reach a set level, as each evolution has a required milestone.
- You need enough evolution materials, which you earn by exploring levels. Keep in mind that different monsters require different materials.
Once those conditions are met, you can start the evolution process through:
- Fusion Evolution: Merging two races to form a new one, such as Fire + Beast becoming Flame Chimera, or Dragon + Undead becoming Bone Drake.
- Morph System: Evolving by combining parts from exotic monsters.
- Final Awakened Form: Available only when a monster reaches its maximum level, you have enough rare materials, and you've completed the other evolution milestones. Monsters that undergo this evolution gain unique skills, a dramatically altered appearance, and entirely new powers.
