Description

Written by Albert H. Gates

Anime refers to animated films, usually produced in Japan and often adapted from novels or manga. Today, plenty of apps make it simple to stream these titles, and one of them is AnimePlay, an anime viewing app that offers some of the most popular anime and donghua along with a range of appealing features.

About AnimePlay

AnimePlay is an online animation streaming app from Indonesia. It hosts a vast library of anime and donghua released around the world, from older classics to the latest releases, spanning countless genres. Its simple, easy-to-navigate interface has earned it a loyal following, and within a short time of launch it passed one million downloads on Google Play.

An Indonesian App

Developed by Jabat Software, AnimePlay has found great success in the Indonesian market and is now expanding into several neighboring countries. Its appeal lies in a database of more than 3,500 series that are refreshed regularly, with Indonesian subtitles and high-quality video. You can also save titles for offline viewing, a feature similar to the offline mode found in the YouTube app.

The AnimePlay Interface

AnimePlay features a clean, straightforward layout with clearly separated tabs and categories. The main screen includes search and organized sections such as Trending and New, making it easy to keep up with the latest titles. The search tools also come with filters that help you find exactly what you're after.

The player screen offers several customizable options, including playback speed control, video quality adjustment up to 1080p, and more. From here you can also add titles to your favorites or download them for offline playback.

A Massive Anime Collection

As noted above, AnimePlay boasts an enormous library of anime and donghua. According to the developer, users can access more than 3,500 titles, covering both films and series, so you're likely to find almost any type of animation you want. Jabat Software, however, does not claim any copyright over these titles. The app acts as a search and access tool rather than a host, and its catalog reflects content that is already available online.

Continuous Updates

After you sign up for an AnimePlay account, the app can send you notifications about what you've watched. If you follow a particular series, you'll see the latest details about it, including its release date, episode count, and average episode length. For newly released series, you'll also receive an alert as soon as each new episode goes live.

Indonesian Translation

Since the app originates from Indonesia, its Indonesian translations are no surprise. Subtitles are also available in other languages, so you don't need to worry much about that. According to the developer, AnimePlay delivers quality anime with carefully crafted translations, offering accurate, natural subtitles that are easy to follow. This attention to translation is a major reason for the app's success.

Storage

Keeping your favorite titles accessible is something most viewers care about, and AnimePlay makes it easy. Simply log in to the app to use these features. Beyond saving content offline on your device, you can add titles to your favorites or create bookmarks. Favorites and bookmarks are stored online in the system's cloud, so you can pick up where you left off across different devices.
