Introducing AlternaVvelt Blue Exorcist AS

For newcomers, Ao no Exorcist is a dark fantasy manga written and illustrated by Kato Kazue. With over 25 million copies sold worldwide, the series has become a massive hit and has also been adapted into an anime and movies.

Aniplex, a studio known for turning anime into games, seized this opportunity and released AlternaVvelt Blue Exorcist AS based on the famous manga. Once again you'll step into the magical world of Ao no Exorcist, though the adventure here takes a very different path from the original story.

Engaging Storyline

You take on the role of Rin Okumura, the bespectacled young man who serves as the lead of the entire manga. The game begins at the moment you first arrive at True Cross Academy. Earlier events remain faithful to the original series: you and your younger brother Yukio are the sons of Satan and a human woman. Your story kicks off when your guardian is killed by Satan, so you enroll at True Cross Academy to train as an Exorcist and bring Satan down.

The battle against demons in this game, however, unfolds very differently from the manga. It takes place in a parallel universe called AlternaVvelt, where events move in unexpected directions.

The AlternaVvelt setting promises a fresh adventure packed with surprises and excitement. Will you ultimately become a skilled Exorcist and defeat Satan? Play through to the end to discover the answer.

Characters

Despite the altered plot, the game brings back familiar faces from the original manga. Close friends such as Kureha, Igiri, and Makugai join and support you on the demanding road ahead.

Beyond reuniting with old favorites, AlternaVvelt also introduces new and enigmatic characters who never appeared in the original series. Notably, these were created by artist Kato Kazue specifically for this game.

Gameplay

AlternaVvelt Blue Exorcist AS is an action role-playing game. You can freely explore True Cross Academy on your own. Your rise to becoming a powerful Exorcist begins with completing the missions the game offers. They vary widely, though most involve battling enemies and monsters.

Over time you'll learn magical techniques and discover how to wield your demon-slaying sword, Kurikara. This blade holds tremendous power, capable of igniting into blue flames that destroy whatever they touch. It's also what transforms your character into a half-human, half-demon with flaming horns and sharp fangs.

Completing missions is also when you learn to harness the Demon element, along with items and weapons. These help you unlock new skills and boost your stats, giving you an edge in intense battles with monsters.

Graphics

The game features attractive 3D graphics that immerse you in the magical, shimmering world of Blue Exorcist. Familiar scenes at True Cross Academy look remarkably lifelike, with every detail crafted just like the original series. It feels like watching the anime, except now you control the character and explore every corner yourself.

The combat effects are equally striking. Each character's skills are designed uniquely, so every battle becomes distinctive, filled with dazzling colors. The game is also voiced by actors familiar from previous anime adaptations.
