AFWall+ APK functions as an intuitive graphical interface for Linux's powerful iptables firewall on Android devices.
AFWall+ is an open-source, free security tool that lets you manage precisely which apps can access the internet and through which networks. Although also found on Google Play, you can easily grab the package directly from ApkMod. Note that granting superuser permissions on initial launch is required, as the firewall cannot block or filter traffic without root access.
In the overview table, each internet-capable application is displayed with its icon alongside its title, accompanied by selection checkboxes. Standard network columns include Wi-Fi, LAN, and cellular data, allowing you to selectively grant or restrict network privileges for every individual app.
To start setting up AFWall+, tap the three-dot menu icon situated in the top-right corner of your screen. From the options presented, open Preferences to tailor the configuration.
You can filter through core, system, and user-installed software via the category menus. Toggling the "Show app UID" setting will reveal each package's unique identifier, while enabling "Confirm AFWall+ to disable" triggers a warning notification whenever firewall protection is turned off.
How to install
- Download the APK file above to your phone.
- Allow “Install unknown apps” when prompted.
- Open the downloaded APK and tap Install.
- If the package includes OBB/XAPK data, follow the bundled instructions.
MOD APKs are modified builds, so Play Protect may show a warning. Install only if you trust the file; use at your own risk.
